Lauren Mentzel’s story

Lauren Mentzel is a passionate artist with a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and a career that blends both artistic vision and technical expertise. She presents Lauren Mentzel Art Glass and invites visitors to explore the work and reach out regarding commission opportunities, including specific colors or designs.

She is a highly skilled and dynamic Art Director with over 20 years of experience in video and live event production, spanning feature films, commercials, corporate videos, training modules, and large-scale live events. Her passion for the creative and technical worlds of video production and live event management has only deepened over the years.

More recently, Lauren spent over three years working with Accenture Productions, where she provided critical production support in various roles, including studio management, floor director, camera operator, grip, teleprompter operator, and most recently, Junior Technical Director.

A highlight from her career was her time at Pixar Animation Studios, working on the animated feature Monsters, Inc. Her love for design, art, color, and storytelling was reinforced through that project and has been a guiding force throughout her work. She thrives on blending creativity with technology and using both to create memorable, visually compelling experiences.

Lauren’s background spans a wide array of roles within the production world, including Art Director, Prop Master, Set Decorator, and various technical positions such as Executive Teleprompter, Junior Video Switcher, Junior Videographer, and GRFX Lead. Additionally, she has experience working with top-tier clients such as Gavin Newsom, Sting, and leadership at companies including Salesforce, Google, Adobe, Pixar, Cisco, Accenture, and Oracle.

Lauren Mentzel thrives in the world of art and production and believes deeply in the power of creative expression to connect and uplift. Through her Objet d’Art—sacred dichroic glass art—she shares a message of love and invites others to help spread these words: YOU are LOVED.

Driven by PASSION, fueled by PATRONS

My journey has been anything but ordinary. Through every step, I've focused on staying true to my values and making space for thoughtful, lasting work.

What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. I’m proud of where I’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead. What sets me apart isn’t just my process—it’s the intention behind it. You Are Loved!

Glass art is an expensive passion, and many artists are priced out due to the sheer cost of the supplies alone, not to mention equipment and workspace. Your donation will help me source the supplies I need to continue the craft I have fallen in love with as a Jewish, LGBTQ+ artist in the SF Bay Area.

Thank you for the consideration.
