My story
I'm Lauren Mentzel, a passionate artist with a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and a career that blends both artistic vision and technical expertise. I bring to you, Lauren Mentzel Art Glass. Please have a look around and let me know if you are interested in commission work? Specific colors or designs?
I am a highly skilled and dynamic Art Director with over 20 years of experience in video and live event production, spanning feature films, commercials, corporate videos, training modules, and large-scale live events. My passion for the creative and technical worlds of video production and live event management has only deepened over the years.
More recently, I spent over three years working with Accenture Productions, where I have provided critical production support in various roles, including studio management, floor director, camera operator, grip, teleprompter operator, and most recently, Junior Technical Director.
One of the most fulfilling experiences of my career was my time at Pixar Animation Studios, working on the animated feature, Monsters, Inc. My love for design, art, color, and storytelling was reinforced through that project and has been a guiding force throughout my work. I thrive on blending creativity with technology and using both to create memorable, visually compelling experiences.
My background spans a wide array of roles within the production world, including Art Director, Prop Master, Set Decorator, and various technical positions such as Executive Teleprompter, Junior Video Switcher, Junior Videographer and GRFX Lead. Additionally, my experience working with top-tier clients like Gavin Newsom, Sting, and leadership at companies such as Salesforce, Google, Adobe, Pixar, Cisco, Accenture, and Oracle.
I thrive in the world of art and production. Please, always remember that you are LOVED! Help spread these words with my Objet de Art- sacred dichroic glass art.
Driven by passion, fueled by patrons
My journey has been anything but ordinary. Through every step, I've focused on staying true to my values and making space for thoughtful, lasting work.
What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. I’m proud of where I’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead. What sets me apart isn’t just my process—it’s the intention behind it. You Are Loved!
Glass art is an expensive passion, and many artists are priced out due to the sheer cost of the supplies alone, not to mention equipment and workspace. Your donation will help me source the supplies I need to continue the craft I have fallen in love with as a Jewish, LGBTQ+ artist in the SF Bay Area.
Thank you for the consideration.
